NHS Jobs As a Transport Driver at NHS Blood and Transplant, you will be an integral part of our 24/7 operation, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of blood products, equipment, and personnel to hospitals, blood centers, and collection sites nationwide. Your role will involve driving a range of vehicles, including up to 7.5-tonne vehicles in most areas and up to 3.5-tonne vehicles in specific locations. In addition to driving responsibilities, you will also be required to load and unload equipment, complete digital and paper-based records, and occasionally undertake emergency blue light deliveries, for which you will receive training in NHS Jobs.

Flexibility is key, as you will be expected to work evenings, weekends, nights, and bank holidays as part of a 24/7 roster. Maintaining the vehicles under your care, including performing daily checks and basic maintenance tasks, will also be part of your role. You will receive a comprehensive induction and training program, with ongoing development opportunities to support you in your role and help you achieve your career goals.
